About Kay


Kay on a recent birding
trip to Spain

From her home based office in Evergreen, Colorado, Kay provides editorial services to Iowa Bird Life, journal of the Iowa Ornithologists' Union, as well as scientific reports for corporation, governmental agencies and nonprofit organizations.

As an avid birder and naturalist, Kay enjoys a variety of flora and fauna at her home on 2.7 acres at 8,200 feet on Bear Mountain, as well as in other areas of the United States and the world.

Kay also enjoys hiking, camping, fly fishing, snowshoeing, classical piano, reading, nature photography, and travel. In this site she shares her wildlife photography and birding trip summaries from around the world.

She is active in the following organizations:

Iowa Ornithologists’ Union (IOU) (Editor of Iowa Bird Life, 2000-present),

Colorado Field Ornithologists (CFO),

The Evergreen Naturalist Audubon Society (TENAS) (board member),

Denver Field Ornithologists (DFO), and other national environmental organizations.

She served on the board and as secretary, vice president, and president of Big Bluestem Audubon Society (BBAS) in Ames, Iowa.
